…Christ is the Head, but Peter the base and the act of the Catholic religion.
Jesus planted the cross on the earth, but Peter has rooted it on high.
Tightly is he attached by truths that eternally tie.
With all his weight Jesus hangs toward the earth, like a fruit from its bough;
But Peter is crucified on an anchor in the depths and with vertigo.
Downwards he looks at the Heaven for which he holds the keys.
