Last year, I decided that I would go all in with watercolor, and I worked at learning how to use the medium day after day for a number of weeks. Then life caught up with me, and my pans and brushes got pushed aside. After reclaiming my studio last week by cleaning it, reorganizing it, and evicting much of what had moved into it, I was ready to try again, but this time, I shunned the lessons, books, rhyme, and reason. Instead, I just played with plates full of dried paints ready, at the touch of a wet brush, to come back to life.
